An article in The Dallas Morning News, December 16,
2012, edition on Page 1J, “Biggest Blunders of Home-Base Job Seekers, by
Christine Durst and Michael Haaren of Creators
Syndicate discusses what job searchers should not do when applying for home-based
jobs. The writers suggest that a job
seeker should not:
Call the employer about
an advertised job
Complain online about a
company’s hiring practices
Get discouraged or
offended when employers don’t respond
However, the article does
not provide advice as to what job seekers should do! My minster in his sermon today provided
advice to all, and I am thinking that the advice is appropriate for job seekers. Here is his P Plan:
Plan Perfectly – Develop a
plan to find a job
Proceed Positively – Avoid
being discouraged when you are ignored by a potential employer
Persevere Persistently – Keep
on keeping on and work your plan
These P’s seem rather
simple, but as golfers often say “half the game is mental.”
Please share with readers of this
blog or email me at glynjordan@gmail.com if you find these three P’s helpful to
your job search.
Thanks. Glyn
