I am amazed at the number of
organizations that have programs to assist individuals in getting jobs or
opening their own businesses.
The University of Phoenix’s new
advertising theme is “Let’s Get To Work”.
The TV ads encourage individuals to go to school in order to be prepared
for a job. Sam’s Club and Constant
Contact in conjunction with SCORE sponsored an entrepreneurial conference in
Dallas for over 100 small business owners representing all 50 states. Capital One sponsors a seven month program for
small business in need management and financial assistance. Texas Wesleyan University just announced a
workshop - ‘How to Start or Run a Small Business.’ SCORE holdings monthly workshops to assist new
and existing small business owners establish or improved their businesses. The Texas Workforce Commission, USAA, and many
other organizations are assisting veterans to become employed. I am hoping this blog will assist individuals
in search of a meaningful job.
This list is just a small sampling
of the services available for the unemployed.
How do you measure the success of these programs? It is difficult to gain measured feedback. Do you find these programs helpful?
Please share your experiences with seminars,
workshops, classes that you feel have assisted your becoming employed by posting
a comment or emailing me at glynjordan@gmail.com.
Thanks, Glyn
