Sunday in New York



On Saturday, April 2, 2011, we sailed on board Marina throughout New York Harbor passing under the Verizona Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and docking at Pier 90 on Manhattan Island. In speaking with individuals from other countries about how many of us older folks volunteer to assist others who are less fortunate, I discovered that citizens in other countries do not understand the concept of volunteerism. They asked me why do we spend so much time helping people who need assistance and advice? I said because we are Americans!
